Andrew Olsen is the bar manager at Bluestem. A Missouri native, Andrew grew up on a small farm south of Belton, MO. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he began his career bartending on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. In the summer of 2014, Olsen joined Howard Hanna and Ryan Maybee at The Rieger. This position sharpened his guest experience skills and allowed him to further develop his unique and inventive style of service and cocktail making. At Bluestem, Olsen showcases his creativity with an innovative cocktail menu. Each of his recipes is created with a background story from his experiences, through traveling, around the world. Olsen enjoys sharing these stories with guests at Bluestem, blending history and personal experience in perfect complement to the Garrelts’ Midwestern cuisine.
