Julio was born in Oaxaca, Mexico where he was raised being around and in the restaurant business. Around the age of 10 years old he began helping his grandmother in the kitchen where his desire and passion for cooking became a large part of his life.
He began his career in the early 2000’s in California working at Saddle Ranch Restaurant and from there moved to the Kansas City area. From 2008 to 2013 he began as a cook, promoted to sous chef, then Executive Chef at Starker’s Restaurant until they closed. In 2014 he moved to The Gallery Event Space until 2017 where he then moved to JJ’s Restaurant in August of 2017 and is now Executive Chef.
