Anita’s career started early in life as a child. As a child, Anita helped her grandmother bake desserts and help with the preparations in the kitchen. Her mother owned a small store and she helped with her business growing up. She always dreamt of owning a business but at that time hadn’t decided on what. She moved to the United States of America in the mid ’80s and started her culinary career. She worked in a taco truck for over 8 years and decided for a change as she now had a family to work for. She then worked for over ten years as a personal cook for a family in Beverly Hills, CA. In 2006 she moved to Kansas and worked for the Kansas City school district as a cafeteria manager for over eight years. On June 3rd, 2015 Anita opened the doors to her restaurant named Anita’s Cuisine. She has been awarded as small new business of the year in 2016 by the Hispanic chamber commerce. Her salsa has been awarded as the best salsa in Kansas City at the Kauffman stadium by the Royal’s fans for their salsa showdown in both 2016 and 2017.
