Carlos Tejeda was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. His love of cooking developed at the early age of 7 as he experienced the flavorful dishes his mother cooked for their family meals and helping her prepare them. His love affair with cooking continues to evolve and is heavily influenced by the food and culture of his beloved Guanajuato.
He has also along the way learned from many chefs one of them being Chef Carlos Falcon which he worked next to at Jarochos South. Executive Chef Martin Woods from Ya Ya’s Euro Bistro. And lastly Executive Chef Greg Wright. These were all Chefs he looked up to and got the knowledge he has to date.
Chef Carlos Tejada graduated from the culinary arts program at Johnson County Community College in 2016. He is the proud owner and Executive Chef of Chava’s Catering and Special Events. Chef Carlos is currently employed at The Parkway Senior Living where he holds the title of Executive Sous Chef. This is Chef Carlos second year of participating in Comida and he is very excited about bringing the flavors of Costa Rica!
