Executive chef, John Santiago of 28 years old was born and raised in Diaz, Puerto Rico.Graduate of Summa Cum Laude in Culinary Arts from the Escuela Hotelera de San Juan in Puerto Rico. As a young boy, he grew up inspired by his grandmother, a talented cook and well known for her food in their home town. At a young age, chef Santiago became a professor in culinary arts for the Instituto de Banca y Comercio in P.R. He also worked in several restaurants as an executive chef in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Chef is a very sociable person who enjoys teaching others about flavors, ingredients, and cuisine from Puerto Rico. He is a very self-driven, competitive, and well-rounded chef who has won several cooking and baking competitions and is known for his creativity in fruit carving displays. Now, executive chef for the new restaurant, Brookside Barrio, hopes to keep growing, learning, and teaching his passion.
