Chef Muñoz began his culinary journey in school, but just as all hospitality professionals know, the experience in a real kitchen is what creates a chef. For three years, Chef Muñoz worked is way up the line at Justus Drugstore, where he became a sous chef and learned an array of techniques under Jonathan Justus. He voyaged west to Colorado to open a restaurant with a friend of his, Chef Jordan. The pair opened Agatha’s, a restaurant inside the La Veta Inn. The vision was to create a fine dining menu for the travelers passing through and a casual dining menu for the everyday locals to indulge in. Shortly after opening Agatha’s, Chef Muñoz was offered an opportunity to return to Kansas City to become the Executive Chef for Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen. Since his return in October of 2017, Chef Muñoz has created new dishes with worldly influences, has executed numerous coursed wine dinners and is happy to call Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen, his kitchen.
